May 2003 Bowne AE&T Group Builds Web-Based Project Management Tools For U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers The Bowne AE&T Group has developed a suite of web-based tools that automate the project management workflow process for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, New York District Operations Division. These tools were developed as part of Sidney B. Bowne & Son’s contract with the Corps of Engineers. A major responsibility of the Operations Division is management of the maintenance dredging program in the New York District. With many complex dredging projects to manage simultaneously, project managers needed a tool to track all phases of the project life cycle including planning, obtaining environmental clearances and permits, preparing plans and specifications, contracting, dredging oversight, and determination of the water depths available in the channel for navigation.
