After two very successful bake sales, Bowne AE&T Group staff members are proud to announce that they raised enough money to be part of Ronald McDonald House’s Tree of Love program. For the bake sales, employees baked a variety of items and sold them to co-workers throughout the workday. In addition to raising funds through the bake sales, employees have cooked dinner on several occasions for the resident families. As a Tree of Love program member, Bowne AE&T Group has an engraved plaque displayed in the Ronald McDonald of Long Island home in New Hyde Park commemorating the firm’s efforts. “We are so proud of the response by our staff that the company decided to match the funds they raised,” said George Fagan, Partner. With the matching funds, the company was able to buy china and silverware for the Ronald McDonald House’s upcoming expansion. The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, the 100th in the world, welcomes families who must endure many anxious hours at area hospitals. The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a "home away from home" providing comfort and shelter to families experiencing the pain of having a sick child in an area hospital. Since opening in 1986, the House has served more than 7,500 families from Long Island and the metropolitan area, as well as from all 50 states and 62 foreign countries. The majority of residents come from Nassau and Suffolk counties and the boroughs of New York.
