Spreading the Word: Bowne AE&T Group Hits the Road

Bowne AE&T Group was well represented at two technical trade shows this past year.

Experts from the firm in the fields of information technology, surveying, and engineering attended the 2002 CADD/GIS Symposium in San Antonio, Texas. The event provides an open forum for exchanging ideas, success stories, histories, and technologies related to CADD, GIS, Facilities Management, Remote Sensing, and Survey/Mapping. Zeb Blackman, a partner of the firm, attended and demonstrated the hands-on leadership of the company’s principals. Project Manager Scott Mastellon provided a technical demonstration of a workflow management application that was created for the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers - New York District. Mr. Mastellon was also one of the featured presenters at the symposium. Overall, the event was a success. As an added bonus, it provided a stage for the Bowne AE&T Group to unveil its new corporate image.

Staff members from Bowne Management Systems, Inc., a part of the Bowne AE&T Group, also attended the 18th annual New York State Geographic Information Systems Conference. The conference was held October 10-11 in Liverpool, New York. The conference agenda covered a variety of technology areas important to Bowne Management Systems including: Emerging GIS Technologies, Internet and Communications, Government GIS Programs, Remote Sensing, and Data Acquisition.

In addition to the New York State GIS Conference, Bowne Management Systems will participate in the 40th annual URISA Conference and Exposition October 26-30, 2002 in Chicago, Illinois. This year's conference is themed “Looking Back, Moving Forward,” with the goal of examining the history of information technology applications in state and local government, as well as exploring current applications and what the future will hold. At URISA, the company’s top GIS professionals will present papers on successful GIS solutions that support e-government and integrating spatial data warehouse with intranet technology.
