Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in land & construction survey projects
  • Preparation of survey data for field survey teams
  • Construction Layout Calculations
  • Analysis and verification of Construction Drawings
  • Boundary Survey Resolution
  • ALTA/NSPS Surveys & Title Report Examinations
  • Proficient in Carlson Survey & AutoCad. Civil 3D experience a plus
  • Excellent writing & oral communication skills

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in residential or commercial site design and/or municipal road improvement projects.
  • BSCE degree or equivalent required.
  • E. in New York required.
  • Should be proficient in CADD.
  • Civil 3D experience a plus.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing site plans, engineering reports and construction design documents related to housing, condominium and senior citizen developments, roadway and drainage, parking, sewers and configuration of public utilities.

Required Skills & Experience:
• Experience in Water and/or Wastewater engineering.
• BSCE degree or equivalent required.
• P.E. in New York required.
• Preparing water, sanitary, hydraulic, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control designs.
• Excellent writing/oral communication and presentation skills are a must.

The successful candidate will have design experience on collection, distribution and treatment systems.

Bowne Management Systems, a full-service information technology and systems integration consulting firm, is part of the Bowne AE&T Group which provides architectural, engineering and technology services to government and private industry.

ENGINEERING INFORMATION MANAGEMENT CONTRACT DRAWINGS TECHNICIAN

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

At direction of the Supervisor, Engineering Information, provide the following services:

  1. Provide support services to the Engineering Department in regards to all active and legacy design/construction projects and Tenant Alteration Application (TAA) submissions.
  2. Utilizing the technical large format scanning and high speed scanning equipment, scan identified active Contract Documents, Drawings and Tenant Drawings into various formats (TIF, PDF, JPG, etc.), and enter required metadata into the designated electronic document management database – Canon’s Direct Print Exec.
  3. Perform quality control measures on exported documents, drawings and TAA information.
  4. Coordinate with Construction, Design, and Quality Assurance divisions to address and resolve discrepancies.
  5. Utilizing the ECM System – Opentext Livelink, transfer posted documents and drawings from the Chief Engineer’s Office (MA/MJ, Award Letters) and other Line Departments (As-Built TAA’s), into the electronic document management database – Canon’s Direct Print Exec.
  6. Prepare monthly progress reports for the Supervisor of Engineering Information, tracking all incoming active project documents and all substantially complete drawings/documents transferred to Engineering Records Center.
  7. Assist staff with the operation and functionality of the Electronic Document Center Search and assist Consultants, as requested by Engineer’s, with searches for Engineering and Construction information.
  8. Assist Electronic Document Center Supervisor or Manager with additional tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, or related job experience of 5 years or more.
  • Understanding of principles and practices of Engineering and construction; including, comprehensive knowledge of contract drawings and project documents.
  • Command of technical imaging equipment, including high tech and large format scanners, multi-CD reproduction equipment, plotting devices, and aperture card readers.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Acrobat Pro; Document Management Database – Canon’s Direct Print Exec preferred; and ECM System – Content Manager (formerly Opentext Livelink) preferred.
  • Ability to support all levels of staff, including other departments, with search and retrieval of Engineering and Construction drawings or documents and all aspects of electronic document imaging and content management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
