Description
To assist the NYC DOT in the implementation of
a Spatial Data Warehouse, Bowne designed and
implemented Data Transformation Services (DTS) for loading DOT operational
datasets from existing legacy systems. Datasets included Capital Projects,
Sign Orders and other project information, Signal Defect Messages, Truck
Routes, Traffic Counts, and NYPD Accident Data. The warehouse also contains
the City’s complete LION, NYCMap, and digital orthophotography databases.
The user interface to the warehouse is a web-based viewer that integrates
all components of the Spatial Data Warehouse in an easy-to-use web browser
interface. The viewer incorporates the use of OLAP cube technology and
a dynamic connection between the web based system and the City’s mainframe
geoprocessing system.
