Description

The Route Smart Data Collector was developed to assist the St Petersburg Times with spatially identifying and maintaining its unmanned newspaper sales boxes. The application provided newspaper delivery staff with the ability to drop a point on a map, with or without Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and capture attribute data about the unmanned newspaper sales box (route, location, draw, condition, etc.)

The application presents information in a user friendly graphical user interface and provides the client delivery staff with the ability to synchronize handheld data to the IT servers at the end of each route. The combination of geographic information and attribute data enabled the client to be more efficient in the distribution and maintenance of its unmanned newspaper sales boxes.
