GASB34 - Digital Mapping of Structures / Features
Description  To facilitate the preparation of the GASB34 financial statement for the Town of Islip’s
Planning Department, Bowne designed and compiled an ArcGIS Geodatabase. This Geodatabase
includes datasets such as the GPS field location of drainage manholes, catch basins, culverts
and recharge basins. Additional GPS collection efforts captured signs, utility and light
poles, sidewalks, curbs, driveways and traffic lights. Hardcopy material, such as work orders
and drainage/subdivision plans from the Town’s Public Works Department were researched and
entered into a Microsoft Access database using a custom interface, providing the ability to
link legacy attribute data records to the field collected features.
