Description
The MTA is a public service company that provides transportation services in the New York Metropolitan region through its operating agencies: MTA NYC Transit, MTA Metro-North Railroad, MTA Long Island Rail Road, MTA Long Island Bus and MTA Bridges and Tunnels. BMS developed a web-enabled application that integrated disparate data from four MTAHQ operational systems to access a central GIS data repository. This map-enabled graphical user interface allows non-technical users to run “canned” or ad hoc spatial or non-spatial queries and reports in tabular, graphical or map format.

The data is structured and maintained in such a way as to facilitate and optimize queries and analyses including spatial queries and analyses via a web browser interface. Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) routines were developed to populate the selected data to the central GIS repository.
